Work with Me

I make games in Godot and on the NES. Right now I'm looking for a 3D artist to team up with on game jams, and I'm open to contract and development work.

I'm looking for a 3D artist collaborator

I'm an indie developer who makes Godot 4 games, mostly puzzle, horror, and systems-driven prototypes. I enter game jams regularly and I finish what I start. Ten Thousand Floors went from nothing to a playable elevator horror game in about a week. Play Ten Thousand Floors »

I'd like to team up with an experienced 3D artist, someone who has shipped or worked on games before, for jam projects first.

How I like to work

Jam games are small enough that everyone's ideas can shape them. I'll write the code and handle the Godot side, and I'm happy to block out levels with CSG (that's how I built the whole environment for Ten Thousand Floors), but I'm just as happy if you'd rather take the blockout as well. Design ideas are best when collaborated on. The best games come from groups that can argue productively but still get the job done.

What I'm not looking for

Someone who only wants to pitch ideas. I want a collaborator who builds things, same as I do.

Money

Jams are unpaid, and I'd rather be clear up front. If something we make grows into a real project, I'm open to rev share, and we'd agree on terms before any serious work begins. You'd get a finished game for your portfolio and full credit either way.

Style

PS1-style low-poly, stylized, or realistic interiors are all welcome. Show me something you've shipped or contributed to.

Hiring a developer?

I've been programming professionally since 2005, across web, mobile, data, tools, and games. I'm most useful on gameplay and tools engineering. I've written 6502 assembly for shipping hardware, so memory budgets and performance don't scare me. Read how Echoes of the Unread fit in 128KB »

I work remotely and my availability is flexible, for contract work, short-term projects, or something longer.
